Design graduates star in Milan
RMIT University's top industrial and furniture design graduates have featured at the world's premier furniture, lighting and home accessory exhibition, the 2011 Milan Furniture Fair.

The Salone Internazionale del Mobile is attended by leading manufacturers to source the latest trends and exhibit their collections.
This is the 8th year that RMIT has exhibited at the fair, since the establishment of Melbourne Movement (MM).
A not-for-profit collective whose aim is to foster the design excellence of young Australian designers both locally and internationally, MM consists of students and recent graduates from RMIT and Monash University.
MM is funded by City of Melbourne, RMIT's School of Architecture and Design and the Faculty of Art and Design at Monash.
This year, eight designers were chosen to represent the Melbourne Movement, five from RMIT.
MM was founded in 1999 by Kjell Grant, an accomplished designer and Design Director of the RMIT University Furniture Laboratory.
Mr Grant, President of MM, said: "Melbourne Movement provides the students with a hands-on opportunity to learn how to exhibit their work professionally, how to negotiate with manufacturers and the associated legal issues, and importantly gives them the on-going confidence to work in an international market."
Many prototypes exhibited at MM events have gone into production and are being sold to consumers in Australia and overseas.
Leading manufacturers such as Moroso (Italy), ONA (Spain), Zanotta (Italy), Schiavello Industries (Australia), Ekbe (Sweden), Ikea (Sweden) and Alessi (Italy) have all produced works that originated from MM.
