Know how to have your skills and knowledge recognised
Pathways, articulation, credit transfer, mutual recognition, recognition of current competencies or admission with advanced standing are terms with similar meaning — recognition of previous relevant study or work experience.
Being acknowledged for your prior study or work experience may reduce the duration of a program and save you money.
Recognition can work in two ways. Completed or partly completed TAFE qualifications can be credited towards a degree; or other TAFE program; likewise, partly completed degree studies may be credited to a TAFE program.
Students may negotiate individual credit transfers with the relevant program coordinator.* Further information about gaining credit for previous study and experience.

Pathways for Foundation Studies students
Foundation Studies program is an accredited program that prepares students for university-level study. It is recognised for entry to degree and diploma programs by Australian and international higher education institutions. For international students, seeking a university entrance qualification, it is an alternative to VCE Year 12.
