Professor Adela McMurray, PhD, has academic and industrial experience in manufacturing and service industries. She has over 82 publications, won best author and teacher awards, research grants totaling over $2.5 million, is an editorial advisory board member for numerous journals and chairs the International Theme Committee at the Academy of Management.

Qualifications

Building an integrated model that shows the ways in which aspects of culture, including diversity, manifest themselves in relationships such as innovation , security, culturally and linguistically diverse recruitment and retention, leadership, sustainable procurement, learning, and organizational climate.

Australian Research Council Linkage Grants Scheme. $596,934. Project title – Indigenous Entrepreneurship in Victoria, Australia. Project with industry partner Department of Innovation, Industry, and Regional Development in collaboration with FirstNations University, Canada. (McMurray, A.J., RMIT Chief Investigator; Hindle, H., SUT; Inbakaran, R., RMIT; Stevens, B., KBN).

Associate Investigator on one project addressing cultural diversity in understanding conflict in vulnerable communities with the Australian Research Council Centre for Research Excellence in Policing and Security. $10 million (ARC contribution) plus $17.3 million (industry contribution) = $27.3 million total. Project led by CI Prof Lorraine Mazerolle at Griffith University with principal research partnerships with Australian National University. Collaborating organisations include University of Queensland, Charles Sturt University, Australian Federal Police, Victoria Police, Queensland Police, Tasmania Police, the Queensland State Government, the Australian Institute of Criminology, and the National Institute of Forensic Science. Key international partners include the United States Homeland Security funded research centre for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), the Jill Dando Institute in the UK, the Institute of Criminology at the Hebrew University in Israel, University of Liverpool, State University of New York, Rutgers Tate University of New Jersey, University of Montreal, University of Maryland, University of Cape Town, and University of Pennsylvania.
