Fashion at RMIT

A discipline concerned with the equilibrium between conceptual and industry relevant design through the research and development of innovative design practice. A fashion designer must be acutely aware of market sentiments, developments in materials, social and environmental change, production environments and processes, marketing, promotion and distribution strategies. Responding to these factors they engage a broad range of research and design methods, visual communication, prototyping and pre-production techniques.

Graduates are well informed regarding the nature and specific attributes of the fashion industry through the contribution of practicing designers and fashion industry professionals.
