Professor Gardner said: "The opening of our Swanston Academic Building in two years will see RMIT’s College of Business consolidated into the core of our City campus, making the RMIT Quarter of Melbourne even livelier.
"The line of credit that has been agreed between us will facilitate a program of capital works worth $600 million over five years, the flagship being the construction of this landmark building.
"The Swanston Academic Building exemplifies what we mean when we say in our new Strategic Plan that RMIT is a global university of technology and design.
"It will provide students and staff with a wireless online environment in and out of the classroom.
"Its internal design will facilitate the use of innovative approaches to learning and teaching.
"And its external design, created by architects who learned their skills with us, will strengthen RMIT’s reputation for daring, cutting-edge architecture."
