The Directory allows registered users great flexibility in accessing their files from computers throughout the University using one IT login.

Accessing a Directory account

The process of registration for students automatically follows enrolment. Students should wait at least 24 hours after they enroll before they start to use their RMIT Directory account. The registration process takes at least 24 hours to complete. If you do not have an account and you are an enrolled student, then please contact the IT Service Desk and provide your student details.

Student username and initial password format

You will need your username and password to log in to the RMIT network and access IT systems.

If you are a student your user name is the letter ‘s’ followed by your student number, e.g. s3001234.

Note: If you have a letter at the end of your student number, leave it out.

Your initial password is the letter ‘p’ followed by your date of birth backwards with an exclamation mark ‘!’ at the end. For example, if your date of birth is 8 April 1992, your password is p19920408!. Make sure you change your password after your first login.
