Director TAFE and Vice-President

John Barnes is the Director TAFE and Vice-President.

The Director TAFE and Vice-President is responsible for the development of RMIT's VET profile and activities. This role is a member of the Vice Chancellor's executive management team and provides leadership and expert advice to the colleges on the provision of vocational education to meet the needs of students and clients.

The Director TAFE and Vice-President is responsible for:

  • leading the development of capacity within RMIT to innovate in vocational education provision and pedagogy;
  • leading industry engagement in the provision and innovation of vocational education and training;
  • developing enhanced international activity in VET, in collaboration with the International portfolio; and
  • promoting the University's vocational education capabilities internally and externally, locally and internationally.
