Health Sciences research specialties

The School of Health Sciences has research strengths within all school disciplines. Academic staff research experience and current research activities provide expertise in a broad range of areas. Our research programs coupled with our staff expertise and research collaboration within RMIT, RMIT Clinics and organisational links provides diverse research opportunities for our students.

A new Strategic Plan for Research (2010-2014) (PDF 75KB 12p) was adopted by the School Executive in late 2009. The Plan outlines a set of initiatives that will build capacity and outputs in five main areas of research strength:

  1. Applied Psychology and Health (APAH),
  2. Traditional and Complimentary Medicine (TCM),
  3. Teaching and Learning,
  4. Wellness, and
  5. Public and Mental Health, and Disability Services.

As part of the Plan, three funding schemes were implemented in the School in 2010:
