RMIT Design Archives

The RMIT Design Archives actively collects material relating to Melbourne design from the twentieth century onwards. These Archives are both digital and material, representing historical and contemporary practices which together tell the story of Melbourne as a design city.

The RMIT Design Archives supports the work of scholars by providing the resources and support for research into Melbourne’s designed environment, design professions and design practices. It publishes a Journal twice yearly, develops exhibitions and publishes catalogues, papers and books related to its collections.

The Archives is co-locating with the Design Research Institute at RMIT's new Design Hub building on the corner of Victoria and Swanston Streets, Melbourne. It is an integral part of a vibrant research centre in the heart of the city which brings together design researchers, the profession and industry.
