Study modes
While the motivation may be there, finding the time to study is often the biggest challenge. At RMIT we believe flexibility is the key and we want you to be able to study in whatever way suits you best - whether it’s on campus, online, by correspondence or through Open Universities Australia.
Study loads
Our students study full or part-time.
The minimum study load for an enrolment to be considered full-time is at least:
- 36 credit points in a compulsory semester/teaching period for higher education programs; or
- 540 nominal hours in a year (or pro rata for programs with a duration less than one year) for TAFE programs.
A part-time student load is anything less than the minimum full-time load identified above.
For more information regarding the study load requirement for onshore international students please visit the student visa conditions webpage.
Attendance mode
You can study through several modes of attendance including face-to-face on campus, online and correspondence. RMIT is an Open Universities Australia partner.
