Earth Hour 2010

Earth Hour 2010

RMIT is participating in Earth Hour for the third consecutive year in 2010.

RMIT University will be participating in Earth Hour 2010, which will be running on Saturday, 27 March, from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

Earth Hour is a worldwide initiative that encourages households, businesses and institutions around the world to switch off their lights for one hour to make a united statement against the effects of global warming.

To support RMIT’s participation in Earth Hour, staff are asked to turn off all non-essential lighting and electrical appliances, including PCs, monitors and printers. Any research equipment that is not in use should also be switched off before 8.30pm on Saturday, 27 March. Fridges will be exempt.

For safety reasons, all essential emergency lighting will be activated during Earth Hour.
