RMIT staff have a long history of giving back to RMIT. The Honorable Francis Ormond MLC, founded the Working Men's College back in 1886 (now RMIT Building 1) by donating £5000. The rest of the £10,600 needed to start the College was raised by public donations.
To continue this tradition of philanthropy, RMIT staff are encouraged to contribute to the Annual Appeal by registering for fortnightly payroll deductions.
Funds raised from the appeal are used to create a range of new scholarships to support current and future students.
By donating through RMIT staff payroll, you receive your tax deduction for your donation each pay, rather than having to wait until the end of the tax year. At the end of each year, RMIT will provide you with confirmation of your donations.
To register for payroll giving, simply complete a staff payroll giving form (PDF 320kb) and return to Human Resources, Building 51, Level 3, City Campus.
