Donation of goods is another way to support RMIT and its students. A range of donors have supported the University in this way, from donation of equipment to the printing school, to donation of tools and engines to the RMIT Formula SAE Team.
You can also donate your time to RMIT. If you are an industry professional you can be a guest speaker, lecturer, program advisor or mentor. This highly practical way of handing down knowledge and experience is a wonderful complement to the University’s teaching and research programs.
There are a growing number of organizations with matching gift programs, whereby donations from employees are matched by their employer. You may wish to speak to your employer to determine whether this kind of programs is something your organisation would support.
Paintings, book collections, film, sculpture and other resources can all be given to the University, which is a registered recipient under the Cultural Gifts Program of the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. The program provides tax incentives to encourage gifts of culturally significant items from private collections to Australia’s public art galleries, museums, libraries and archives.

Many areas of the University have funded learning opportunities within companies – Work Integrated Learning – that provide benefits for the company, the student and the University. The RMIT International Industry Experience and Research Program (RIIERP) meets this demand, providing our partner companies with high-calibre, motivated students.
