Summary of responsibilities

I believe one of my main roles at RMIT University is to provide the right environment for all students, so they can experience a range of opportunities that encourages them to reach their potential, not only now but in the future.

I am currently one of a team of dental assisting teachers that perform a variety of tasks:

• Teaching in a classroom
• Mentoring students
• Providing support to the workplace supervisors
• Conducting workplace assessments.
• Intermediate Mentor: to provide mentoring and support as required within the dental assisting teaching team.

I was one of the inaugural teachers of the commencement of the Certificate III in Dental Assisting at the National Dental Centre in Singapore in 2002 and return to the National Dental Centre regularly for teaching assignments.

1999 - Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, RMIT University

1978 to 1979, Registered Nurse Division II, Prince Henry’s Hospital

1976 to 1978, Dental Assistant, Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne

Teaching responsibilities

I am the primary teacher for the following courses:

• Anatomy & Physiology
• Medical Compromised Patients
• Dental Radiography
• Communication in the Dental Surgery (incorporating: Telephone Operations in the Health Industry, Dealing with Customers and Clients, and Dealing with Conflict).
• I will also be involved in the delivery of the Certificate IV in Oral Health Education.

Educational development work

Apart from the formal studies already listed, I manage to remain current in the following ways:

• Attend professional seminars and conferences
• Maintain membership to relevant dental and health associations
• Committed to regular scholarship of research of medical and dental journals, texts and internet
